Light and long strokes along the body parts requested to be massaged or following a full body sequence. It provides relaxation, a sense of calm, stimulates circulation, and lymphatic drainage.
This massage will include all the traditional Swedish massage techniques. Effluerage strokes are long smooth strokes along the body, petrissage is a kneading technique, tapotement is a tapping/percussive technique, friction strokes are deeper more focused strokes, and vibration. This massage can be done following a sequence so you get the same massage every visit or the strokes can be combined in a way and manner to best meet how you feel that day. The massage you want after a long day may differ from the massage you want when your body feels stiffer and tighter.
The same as a Swedish massage but with more pressure. This massage is still focused on full body muscular relief and relaxation. If you want deep tissue but can't think of a specific area you want massaged, then this massage is probably for you.
Deep Tissue Massage is a form of bodywork that aims to relieve tension in the deeper layers of tissue in the body. Deep Tissue Massage is a highly effective method for releasing chronic stress areas due to misalignment, repetitive motions, and past lingering injuries. Due to the nature of the deep tissue work, open communication during the session is crucial to make sure you don't get too uncomfortable. Keep in mind that soreness is pretty common after the treatment, and that plenty of water should be ingested to aid with the flushing and removal of toxins that will have been released from the deep tissue during the session. This is slow, targeted, specific work; so don't expect a full body massage.
Variety and muscle confusion are essential for not developing holding patterns or staleness in a workout. We will use those same principles to relax you and your muscles. We will use rocking and shaking, tense and relax stretches, thai massage, and deep tissue massage to keep you at your peak or moving closer to it. This should be intense but not painful. This is supposed to enhance your rest days. That good pain shouldn't feel anything like hypertrophy or muscle failure. You may experience soreness for a few days after even though you leave feeling better that day. That feeling is from the areas that had knots and circulation blockages and built up waste products now getting nutrients and healing.
Shiatsu is a Japanese form of massage therapy. The word Shiatsu comes from two Japanese words - \"shi\" (finger) and \"atsu\" (pressure). In addition to the direct stimulation of pressure points along the energy pathways of your body, gentle stretching techniques are applied over a wider area of the body to integrate the point work and encourage the flow of Chi (energy) throughout the body. Shiatsu is a meditative healing art that honors the body, mind and spirit.
Thai massage is said to be like someone putting you through a yoga class. You will be moved into various positions to be stretched and massaged by my 8 appendages (hands, elbows, knees, and feet). Other techniques that will be used are rocking and shaking along with compression. Relax and allow your body to be moved like a feather in a light breeze.
A gentle relaxing massage primarily using effluerage, light friction, skin rolling, followed by lymphatic drainage. It strengthens the skin by stimulating collagen and elastin production as well as relieves facial tension and rids it of extra fluids. I will use oils and lotions specific for the face but I won't be addressing skin issues with those products. The beauty benefits are from massage not the products used. Please show up without makeup on or face cleansing wipes will be provided for your own use.
